Atlantis Found?
Monday, November 15, 2004 at 8:18 pm
According to CNN, an American researcher may have found the lost city of Atlantis at the bottom of the east Mediterranean Sea. I, for one, have always been fascinated by research into so-called lost civilizations - especially since Biblical history tells us of a worldwide flood that could easily have caused the geographical upheavals to lead an island city to the bottom of the ocean. Now, we have no idea what Atlantis could be like. Most of what we have are Plato talking of it as an advanced civilization, I believe, and then a bunch of fantasy-based movies. I don't even know what its real name is (Atlantis was the name given because it was believed to have been at the bottom of the Atlantic sea floor). It was an architect from Los Angeles, not your typical archeologist, who made the discovery, and claimed that 60-70 architectural layout descriptions and measurements from Plato's writing matched the find. I don't want to regurgitate all the facts, especially since the AP did it so well.

Feels good

Boy do I love getting things done. Today I mailed out both the 2004 Camp Promo Video for LaMoine Christian Camp and Keith & Lindsay Luecht Wedding DVD to their proper owners. I've been working on both since summer and they've been hanging over my head keeping me too frustrated to get other work done. Sometime in the next few weeks, that promo video will be on the Camp web site. If you're bored, you can view it!
Not as Incredible

I remember the glory days of Pixar. I knew that I didn't have to deal with anything much in their movies - just have a good time. It is one of the few companies that still put out G-rated movies (at least that make it to theaters). The Incredibles, I believe, is Pixar's first PG-rated movie. Not only was it their first, but they pushed the rating to the limit. If you're a teenager or an adult, this movie's great. On the other hand, everybody is used to Pixar being for everyone. This was the exception. If you are a very young child, this movie is far too violent for you. There are explosions, people being killed, and even the main characters face near death. It's just too much for younger kids. It was a great movie, and all about the values of keeping a family together. I just think they could have made it a little clearer that they're starting to lean toward the Shrek style of animated films. I don't want popularity to push them away from a quickly shrinking market.
Maybe I'm just inclined to dislike the movie a tiny bit because they had technical difficulties and David, Laura, and I had to wait an extra 2 1/2 hours to see it.
I'm Lovin' It

Ok, I'm on a big kick with advertising slogans and thinking about them today. I found out about a furniture retailer overseas that ships a lot of its furniture unassembled so that the customer can save money doing assembly themselves. Their slogan to express that? "Screw Yourself." It's just great, isn't it? I like it!
Funny Joke
Friday, November 05, 2004 at 8:06 am
Well, sometimes I'm thinking and I have a thought that is at least funny to me. So here's a poorly worded joke:
There are two men in a nursing home room - one laying in bed, the other is standing. The one laying in bed is being spoon-fed his dinner. The standing man asks, "I don't know how you can stand being physically incompetent day in and day out. I would go crazy." The other man responds, "I'm not incompetent, I just outsource my motor skills."
There you have it, the poorest worded, dumbest joke ever. It still made me laugh. If anyone can come up with a better-sounding way of putting this, post up a comment.
