Summer over, summer not
Monday, August 04, 2003 at 6:26 am
What a day - I finished all my business in Bushnell and I'm ready to drive to Greenville tomorrow. So I stayed up late tonight - not a smart plan. I'll be working for the next couple weeks with a crew from Blackroom Records on a music video for thirstborne's song "Let Me Fly." I know it's gonna be great! On the weirder side of today, I watched the new $25,000 pyramid. They always have REALLY dumb category names. To enjoy the oddity, I'm gonna side-track for a moment. Two years ago when I was taking English 180 at WIU, I stayed up really late writing a paper at the last minute. I stayed up till 3:30 or later in the morning and fell asleep several times in the middle. Things didn't go well - there were full sentences or even paragraphs that didnt' make sense, I only barely noticed a couple lines of computer program code in one paragraph, and it was only a summary paper!!! It's title? A really dumb joke... "Summary, Some aren't." Tonight while watching the show - there was a really dumb category. It's name? "Summer games, some are not," if I remember correctly. So yeah - my brain crossed stupidity waves with a game show writer. I have a long tomorrow ahead of me and a short night of sleep - so this'll be the end of tonight's post.
Dinner and a movie
Saturday, August 02, 2003 at 5:07 am
Two things on my mind today. One is that I've been fixing a lot of computers this week - that means I can afford to buy food for August while I'm helping with shooting and editing the thirstborne music video. The other is that I want to start work on an amateur Christian film (and that will be a big project considering how little time I will have). The movie is untitled as of right now and is about the emotional struggle of losing a wife/girlfriend (also undecided). The wife/girlfriend dies early on in the movie and eventually the man copes with the grief by trying to contact her. He is a Christian and has Christian friends but ignores the risk and tries to contact his girlfriend/wife beyond the grave. He thinks that he succeeds. The demons that are impersonating his lost love try to convince him to kill himself - saying that they can be reunited then. Then the movie has some sort of climax and ending - no idea what. I will be trying to write some of the story soon. If you have some comments on this idea or ideas to help me with this project - put them in the comments section for this post. That's all for tonight, folks.
Hectic Days...

This entired day was pretty much devoted to getting back covers in all of the copies of the camp DVD. Other than that, I still have a ton to do this week before I move back to Greenville on Monday. One of those things being packing up EVERYTHING - even what I can't take yet. Needless to say, with this busy week I haven't started on that yet. There's still a few days left :-).
Way after camp

I knew it would be after camp when I entered in here again - but a full week after? Yeah, this has been a long week. Camp was great and I stayed up all night the last night of camp putting together a highlight video - the same thing I did last year. I was hoping for more luck this year because last year there was a bad storm and the power went out 3 times while I was working on the video. THIS year, there was a bad storm and the power went out 3 times. Yeah.... It came out good though. Out of all the campers and helpers, there were 43 orders for DVD copies of it. That's what this week has been about. I made a lot of money this week fixing computers too. Also, I am working on a video for a friend's church. Last night I got a phone call saying that I might have to go back to school on August 4th - only a week from monday. I don't know how I'm gonna get everything ready to go by then, but I've gotta try! Once I get back to Greenville, I'll be working with Blackroom Records (Greenville College's very own student-run record label) on a music video for the band Thirstborne. Exciting times! Busy times...I love it.
The day has arrived

I stayed up until 2 a.m. last night finalizing everything - taking down my computer, finishing the "Go West Young Man" music video, etc. I am ready for an exciting week. Not only will I get to help with an awesome age group and have lots of fun with that, but I also get to do everything else I love with my computer. I just want to get as much sleep as I can so that I can be at my best (even though last night's sleep didn't go that way...). The next entry in this journal will be after camp.
