A Taste Of Cornerstone

Today I was planning on calling Lindsay in the afternoon and by evening be setting up camp @ Cornerstone. Since Lindsay Hess's sister will be getting married on saturday, today was the only chance to get "Hesstopia" started before maybe monday. We drove out to Cornerstone and of course the gates were closed and locked. We got out of the car and walked in following a truck inside the gate. We were walking thru the grounds alone. We started talking and believing more and more that like it seemed the program said, nobody would get to set up camp before Sunday morning on the 29th. We walked past several people and nobody seemed to notice us. We went to the fest office and talked to the person inside. She told us it would be perfectly fine - they just don't allow camping early. She said we were "very respectful" because we didn't drive in - even though we walked in without permission :-P. Well - after that we went back and after a while got the camper and my tent and the grill and table. We loaded all that and left and found exactly the spot we wanted. It took only 5 minutes for my awesome Wal-Mart tent to go up. Everything seemed to be ready and we left. I have to admit - I'm getting really excited about Cornerstone. It's gonna be the best Cornerstone ever. I am kinda like the ambassador for Andrea and Echo - two friends from WI and MI (now that I think about it, both of those abbreviations pronounce like pronouns...). So I'm gonna stay @ the Cornerstone grounds all day sunday making sure that nobody tries to take our extra space - because it's gonna get filled. Yay for Cornerstone...yay yay for Cornerstone!!!!!
P.S. I accidentally used the women's bathroom at Wal-Mart tonight :-o...
A day....an adventure

Friday was the most fun I'd had in a long long time. It was my big day at Adventureland in Des Moines, IA with my best friend Josh and a few of his awesome friends that I didn't know yet. I left at 5:15 a.m. after only 2 hours of sleep. It only took me 3½ hours to drive there, so I got there more than an hour before the park opened. Right after I got in I got several new names thrown at me. I forgot them all at first. Later, Josh's best friend from elementary school, Evan, showed up. Out of all the rides, nothing was more entertaining than the age/weight guessing spot. I know I don't quite look 20 yrs. old. When I paid my $2, I let the guy try to guess my age. He guessed wrong, and no I'm not 15. So I won the stuffed dog that you see. I also have a priceless wallpaper of him. Leave a comment on this post if you have a name for him!!
So other than eating pizza and getting nauseous on the wimpy little swinging ship, we just rode some more rides and left. Next we went back to the hotel and then went to Wal-Mart. Evan saw how great the night could be and he went all out buying a cheesecake, some lemonade, and some plastic forks! We took our goods down to the hotel lobby and played a lot of blackjack using forks (and half-forks) for betting. After that the whole group of us started talking. Ok, so there was more laughing than talking. We moved up to the other side of the lobby and went totally nuts laughing. For the most part, I can't remember what was so funny. I dunno, something about drinking humor that is 80 spoof. And then something else about laughing gas that smells bad. Finally, at around 2 a.m., I left for home. I had to take a 2-hour nap and a 1-hour nap on the way home in order to survive it. When I got home I was only able to sleep for 3 hours! And the Chad that is so tired is now typing up this story! I'm done. Good night!
I just love last minute decisions!

I had a great day today. I didn't do a whole lot, but I did get to fix a computer and make a little bit of money. Tonight I had to call up Tony - as the two of us might have been going to South Dakota for the weekend to visit my best friend Josh, who I hadn't seen since the middle of last July. The call was to tell him I couldn't afford to go - even though I knew already that he probably couldn't go either. At the time tonight I remembered to call Tony, I also realized I had the money to go to Adventureland tomorrow where Josh is taking his youth group and where I would have met up with him. So I called Josh and set it up to meet him at Adventureland at 10 a.m. I'm not ready to wake up at 5 a.m. Today I woke up at 1 p.m.!!! Oh well - how could I pass up an opportunity like this? I get to see Josh and I only have to drive half the distance :-). I better stop typing so I can get what little sleep I will get.
The New Site

Here it is, everybody! It's about time... I locked myself in my room all day today. I just now finished copying it all. I don't think I even stepped outside all day. YUCK!! It didn't really seem so bad until I thought about it just now. I didn't want to put up this site until there were no mistakes. There's probably some that I haven't foumd yet. I decided that's ok - I was watching Emeril Live this evening and Emeril messed up macaroni & cheese in front of a live audience. Anyway, now that I've finally finished this site, I bet I'll be too lazy to go back and update it.
I really got into the Bible this afternoon. I thought I had only read for a few minutes. Just a minute ago I checked and it was almost 2 full chapters. John 8:12-10:21. It is a lot of Jesus just being good at arguing with the religious leaders. Well - I gotta tell everyone about my new site now!!!
The very first posting!

I don't know why I care so much! This site isn't even up yet. Today, you couldn't find this posting if you tried. Oh well, it took me several hours to get this working, so humor me, ok? I'm happy :-).
